Intertidal life

The Discovery Islands has some the most incredible intertidal life on the coast.

This leather star is one of the many species of sea stars that live in our waters.

The seals

The Harbor Seals are plentiful in this area. These curious creatures will often follow us as we paddle up Hoskyn channel to the Octopus Islands.

The seal population has made a great comeback in our area and are a key element in our local bio-diversity.

The Octopus Islands

The Octopus Islands, on the northern tip of Quadra Island, are considered to be one of the best sea kayaking areas in the Gulf of Georgia. Paddling this area is one of the highlights of the tour.

Tranquil evening

Everyone has there own reason to get out and paddle. For some it is the wildlife, others to get some good exercise, but for most it is the peace and tranquility that you can find in the quiet of a sea kayak.

Meet new friends

Couples, singles, families or groups are welcome on all our tours. When you end your tour, you will be leaving behind a whole host of new friends that often become friends for life.

Newton Lake

On one of our days we can enjoy a hike up to Newton Lake, and treat ourselves to a well deserved and refreshing dip in the crystal clear water.

The only sounds around may be the melodic call of the Loon, or sounds of exhilleration as we swim and absorb our scenic surroundings.

The Coast Mountains

The Coast Mountains make a stunning backdrop to the Discovery Islands tour.

The snow stays on some of these mountain tops year round giving it a very dramatic look throughout the year.
